(KOSDAQ: 445090), a leading ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) design solution provider, announced that Executive Director Junho Kim, Head of Sales Division, received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation at the 18th Korea Semiconductor Day ceremony held on October 22.
The award recognizes Kim’s contribution to the growth and expansion of Korea’s system semiconductor industry. This marks the second consecutive year ASICLAND has produced an award recipient, following Executive Vice President Chang-Eun Jang last year.
Held annually since 2008, Korea Semiconductor Day celebrates the achievements of the nation’s key industry and honors those who have contributed to its advancement. Government officials and industry leaders attended this year’s ceremony to share visions for the future of the semiconductor sector.
With over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor field, Kim has led numerous domestic and international projects, building the foundation for Korea’s fabless industry growth. Notably, he spearheaded the world’s first 5G mmWave chip development project commissioned by a Korean client, successfully leading it to commercial mass production through ASICLAND’s independently developed testing environment—an achievement recognized as a milestone in strengthening Korea’s design autonomy and reliability.
Under Kim’s leadership, ASICLAND has also promoted collaboration among fabless clients, the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, and related institutions, contributing to the broader industry ecosystem. His efforts have been instrumental in driving ASICLAND’s growth, achieving over USD 10 million in exports and expanding annual revenue from KRW 5 billion to KRW 95 billion.
